User Datagram Protocol (UDP)

UDP is a core member of the Internet protocol suite. It is simple message-oriented transport layer protocol. UDP does not require any previous communication between devices to set up communication. UDP provides data integrity verification via checksum of the header and payload, but it provides no gaurantees on message delivery or ordering. When using UDP, one should expect some packet loss.
